So, allow me to ask you a series of questions:
Should rape carry a longer jail term than petty theft?
Should murder in the first degree be punished more harshly than tax evasion?
Should speeding be considered a worse offence than parking infractions?
Does it make sense that punishments should differ based on the severity of a crime? Is it fair to give the petty thief less of a sentence than the rapist?
Okay, now, answer these:
Are all sins equal?
Is murder worse than coveting your neighbour's goods?
What's worse? Adultery or working on the sabbath?
Is it worse to lie or to rape an infant?
Are all lies created equal?
Does it make sense that all of thes aforementioned sins result in the exact same punishment? Is it fair to give both the liar and the person who raped infants the same sentence?
Isn't god supposed to be just? Are we more just than god?
See, in the criminal justice system, differing crimes are given differing sentences. But not in hell. An atheist gets the same treatment as a serial rapist or a murderer. Hell, under this system, I would get the same punishment as Hitler.
Is this fair? Is this behaviour indicitave of an omnibenevolent being?
